...thousands of them. I visited Llanelli wetlands today to witness the supposed 100,000 starlings flying in to roost. I tried to count them but they just wouldn't keep still for long. It looked a little less than reported though. The spectacle lasted about 20 minutes and was worth the visit. Shooting them was rather difficult; their flight path was unpredictable and when they turned in a certain way they almost become invisible in the sky. Although I bagged a few shots, I didn't really get the sort of images I was hoping for. This behaviour lasts well into December so hopefully I will get another shot at it soon and I will be a little wiser in my approach. The picture shows one flock flying through the evening sky as the sun was going down.
